Holistic {hoh-lis-tik}

Remedies to Restore Holistic Counselling offers you a place where you can be authentic.
Counselling aims to meet your needs and bring a new sense of feeling safe within yourself and your world. Sessions are relaxed and taken at a pace that suits you.
There are no scripts, no prescribed processes, no protocols and no judgement.
We will take it one session at a time.
Each session is unique where I will be guided by your intention and use a combination of various techniques gently integrated within our conversation and time together.
Together we may chat, learn, laugh, cry, contemplate, explore, resolve and discover new ways to be with what has happened in life and bring you into a new sense of your Self.
Sessions may include talking, listening, visualisation, enquiry, somatic movement, stillness, feeling our feelings, relaxing sounds with music and more. I am with you throughout the journey of each session.
Holistic Counselling aims to meet your needs
and bring a new sense of feeling safe in your world.
Counselling, healing, spirituality, self development, wellness and other modalities aim to simplify feeling safe within ourselves to fully express our natural authentic response/Self in a situation at the moment it arises.
Constraining our innate psycho-biological natural responses accumulates as stress, trauma, conflict, illness, depression, anxiety, a dysregulated nervous system, disassociation and more.
Most people have heard of psychology, psychiatry, psychotherapy, therapy, counselling, trauma therapy, somatic therapy, mental health and more. You may or may not have heard other terms such holistic psychotherapy, psycho-biology, psycho-spirituality as well. All these terms are similar in nature with slight variances depending on the practitioner and their skills and modalities of interest.
Holistic Counselling and psychotherapy stems from psychology and refers to an holistic therapeutic counselling style that encompasses the whole of you and your life with a range of traditional and alternative techniques aimed to bring the wholeness of you alive – one moment at a time.
The whole of you includes your mind, your emotions, your thoughts, your beliefs, your nervous system/body, spirit, soul, family tree, childhood and adult experiences, physical/mental health, relationships with others, life and more.
At no time is there any need to revisit a traumatic event
unless you want to. We take it at your pace.
Holistic Counselling technique's include but are not limited to a combination of the below and may be gently blended into your session.
🌟 Talking 🌟 Healing Trauma 🌟 Attachment Styles 🌟 Somatic Experiencing
🌟 Relationship principles 🌟 The Work of Byron Katie 🌟 Effective Communication
🌟 Emotional Freedom Technique 🌟 Dissolution Freedom Technique
🌟 Physical wellness and body care 🌟 Meditation / Mindfulness
🌟 Structural Constellations 🌟 Internal Family Systems 🌟 Creative Visualisations
🌟 Psycho-education 🌟 Ho'oponopono 🌟 Journaling and more
Connection is the energy that is created between people when they feel seen, heard, and valued
– when they can give and receive without judgement.

Counsellors ask:
What happened to you?
How do you feel?
What do you want?
Where are you struggling?
How are you coping?
Where would you like to be?
How could it be better?
What would YOU like to talk about?
Counsellors don’t ask:
What is wrong with you?
A remedy is not a fix, not a cure and not a way to avoid what hurts or haunts us.
I trust there is a remedy for everything in life.

My personal mantra is 'there is a remedy for that' - whether that be emotional, mental, physical, spiritual or beyond.
Sometimes we need to find what that remedy is and it may not look like what we expect it to be. Part of the challenge being that there is no one list of specific ails and the exact relevant remedy for each of us that we can then simply 'do something' and then be 'fixed' from our issue/s.
Sometimes the remedy may be truly meeting the reality of a situation without changing it and seeing it from a new lens of life.
A remedy may come in the form of literally listening to your story, a visualisation or meditation, using The Work of Byron Katie to explore underlying judgements, feelings or beliefs, emotional freedom technique, a structural constellation, learning about your nervous system, using somatic (body) experiencing movements, offering insights into your attachment styles or relationships, brainstorming solutions together and much more.
Techniques, modalities, methods, systems, bodies of knowledge are merely tools that we can use to help us see ourselves, see our responses/reactions in a new way that we hadn't seen or felt before.
Of all the methods of healing I have come across - the one common focus is the pathway back to Wholeness, back to Self, reclaiming all of parts of who you are - no parts left out or left alone.
We are each the full spectrum of the human experience. Inner peace, freedom, joy, love, happiness and more come alive when all our experiences, feelings, thoughts, beliefs are acknowledged and belong.
If you would like to know more about some of the techniques we may use, please peruse the videos on my Resources page.

Getting to know you: An initial session will commence with getting to know you with a range of questions and a chat to find out what it is that you want.
Ask me questions: You may like to use this time to ask me some questions - this is a great opportunity to ensure that we create connection and you feel at ease with me and my style of counselling before we proceed further. You are also welcome to ask me questions at any time throughout your sessions.
Gentle remedies: After getting to know you, we can discuss your intentions or concerns and include a variety of therapeutic remedies as required so you gain a new sense of your Self.
For any additional sessions, we can continue to explore whatever it is you are seeking counselling for.
